Production with State-of-the-Art Technology 2018, Orinoco Oil Belt
For the correct commissioning of a multi-sensor system in oil production wells, a technical survey
is necessary to validate and guarantee the specific characteristics of the site, this includes:
downhole pressure and temperature, communication protocols for surface equipment, well
diagrams, and artificial lift systems used, among others. An effective technical survey allows
adjusting the solution to the specific needs of each client, during this process various meetings are
usually held and information is exchanged that is approved by both parties (client – E’kabel) in a
synergistic way.
E’kabel’s operations team has extensive experience in the Oil & Gas industry in the process of
installation and removal of downhole multi-sensor systems. Our sensor equipment offers the
unique ability to measure up to seven parameters that allows the customer’s operations team to
make timely decisions using reliable data.
During the installation process, E’kabel periodically measures the pressure, temperature and
electrical resistance that guarantee the correct functioning of the sensors and the integrity of the
TEC cable and attempts to reduce the number of stops or failures which translate to lapses of
production.
After the installation of the sensor, we place our E’kabel Wellhead Outlet II in order to protect the
integrity of the TEC cable on the surface and reduce the risk of sensor signal loss. The cycle is
completed with the installation and programming of our E’kabel Data-logger that connects to the
customer’s control room through the communications protocol used in the field (RS-485, RS-232,
TCP-IP).
All of our processes are covered by well established procedures, without losing sight of the need
for continuous improvement, which allows us to offer a high level of service quality to our
customers.
